Sora AI 2: the machine that people created to take their own jobs

Sora released the 2nd version of their AI, and it is way stronger than the original

Sora AI has managed to do it. Sora AI has learned how to make movies to the horror of film writers, animators and that one guy who just bought a $4000 camera see his career go in 4k. With just a few text prompts and zero coffee breaks Sora is managing to produce spectacular scenes.

AI is slowly storming media over the world with the new update of Sora AI to version 2 on September 30th, 2025. advancing it much more as this new version has improved physics and best of all, synchronized vocals allowing people to make ranges of stuff such as high-quality movie worthy content or absolute abominations. I’m sure they’re happy about this, since they don’t need to fire any more workers. (Don’t worry, they’ll still get fired)

There are even companies like Disney investing a billion dollars into OpenAI which lets Sora have access to the generation of Disney characters and in return Disney gets access to their AI technology. The partnership is a huge deal to Hollywood introducing video generation AI, while totally ignoring concerns of it potentially taking peoples jobs and property rights.

Some independent filmmakers refer to it as “just a tool”, which is funny because it’s already progressed far beyond a tool, nearly taking over jobs completely. You just type a few words then press enter and suddenly there is a fully formed cinematic video right in front of you with angles, pacing and lighting while the actual human is still trying to find the camera they left lying around somewhere.

Most Viewers don’t really care how a movie is made if it looks visually good and can hold their attention, but if Sora can eventually produce a feature-length film at lower costs and faster speed, that raises a moral debate. Do we really want to make all the human work and industry in the film obsolete?

Even film schools are adapting, now alongside learning advanced editing software and how to tell a story, now they are training students on how to use AI software. They call this AI assisted production, but it might be only a matter of time before the assisted becomes the assistant.

Sora AI is not the end of movies, it is just a reminder that the movie industry loves to progress until it starts doing it better than humans.

The future of films may still belong to people, but for now it’s hard not to notice the AI machine looming above the industry.
