Ubisoft’s new Assassin’s Creed game sales are blowing away the previous game in the series

Ubisoft has released their newest game--Assassin’s Creed Odyssey--and its sales are skyrocketing.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey from Ubisoft is a third-person role-playing game available on all platforms. After many hours of playing this game, it has become one of my favorite in the Assassin’s Creed series. It’s the first Assassin’s Creed game that’s in Greece, which I love. Furthermore, the main story is engrossing, the gameplay is intense, and there are a ton of fun side quests to do.

The main objective of the game is to reunite your family, assassinate the members of a murderous cult and save Greece from civil war between Athens and Sparta. When you first start the game, you can choose between two characters, Alexios or Kassandra. Before you the main story, you go through a tutorial playing as Leonidas–the famous Greek hero who led 300 Greek soldiers defending against 300 210,000 Persians and their commander, Xerxes.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey brings back the ships and ship battles from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. The ship battles are really fun to do. You can ram enemies’ boats dealing a lot of damage. You can board the enemies ship, and kill the enemies to pillage loot for your ship.

The water and building graphics are really amazing and the combat animations look really impressive When you go to the beaches you’ll see this nice light blue water with the sun reflecting off it. It looks like the actual waters in Greece. When you’re fighting tough enemies, the more you use your combos, the cooler and more intense the battle will be. I love using a spear, and doing cool spin moves that slice up the enemy. Pulling off these combos gives you a great feeling–like I just destroyed that guy to bits with one combo!

The side quests are fun to do and help you level up faster, so if you are doing a quest that is too challenging for you, you can complete side quests to improve your combat. One of my favourite side quests is where a daughter of Artemis asks you to travel around Greece and slay these beasts which are very tough and challenging animals that give you good items and a lot of experience points. When you are done killing the beasts, you fight the daughter of Artemis for the leadership of all of the daughters of Artemis at their camp.

There are many versions of the game costing from $80 to $220 Cdn. The $80 standard version gives you just the basic game. Other additions come with various DLCs included. The Pantheon Edition is the most expensive; it includes an Alexios figure that’s 12.11 inches tall, plus an enemy figure that stands 11.22 inches tall. It also comes in a huge collector’s box. I don’t think it’s worth buying the expensive editions because once you finish Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the DLC content won’t be as exciting to play more than once. And if you buy the $220 version, the figures that come with it will just sit somewhere in your room collecting dust. Unless you’re a diehard fan of Assassin’s Creed, buy $80 version. It gives you everything you really need to play the main story which is the best part.

I really like the main story because when you go out on your journey you learn new things about this powerful spear with special abilities that your grandfather, Leonidas had passed down to you. The spear has this special power to seal Atlantis from the world. I also really like how you’re able to fight for any side in the war. One thing that makes game play more interactive is that, along your journey, you will have choices that will affect the ending you get. You might be rewarded with more or less loot at the end, and the survival of your family is also at stake. If you’re not careful,  at the end all of your family members die and it’s just you at your house, alone.

This is a great addition to the Assassin’s Creed series and will keep you entertained for a long time while you complete the massive main story and many side quests. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has sold 45,166 copies as of October 5th. The reason why Assassin’s Creed Odysseys sales are blowing up is because of how good the game is. From story to gameplay to graphics, it is the best Assassin’s Creed game yet.
