Best Anime of 2022

THE VERY BEST: Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen (jjk for short, sorcery fight in English) follows the story of a high school student at Jujutsu high named Itadoi Yuuji, who had an unfortunate accident with a demon, and is now on his quest to find all the severed fingers of a legendary king of curses and consume them. With intense soundtracks and beautiful animations and art, the anime was first released in January 2020, and season two is said to premier in 2023.

The Runners Up:

Chainsaw Man

Denji is a teenager who hunts devils for their bounties, trying to pay off his dead father’s debt. After a tragic accident, he merges bodies with his pet devil, Pochita, and becomes this indestructible man with chainsaws for arms and his head, and a thirst for blood. His only issue is that his only motivation in life is that he wants a girlfriend. The anime began airing on October 11th, 2022, and it’s as action packed and gory as the manga.

Spy x family

Action packed with romance and comedy tossed in, Spy x Family is a story about three odd individuals that come together to “play family;” Loid, an undercover spy trying to prevent world wars playing the role of father, Yor, mother by day assassin by night, and Anya, a telepathic young girl. It was animated earlier this year, on the 9th of April 2022, and the second part to it began airing on october 1st.

Mob Psycho 100

A hilarious series that follows a psychic teenager trying to become physically fit to be more attractive to the girl he likes. The characters in the show are ridiculous, and every chapter succeeds in making you laugh (even though it’s classified as shounen). This blend of action and comedy was first animated on september 25, 2019, and it’s still an ongoing show, with the latest season 3 airing on october 5th, 2022.
