The Toronto Blue Jays have a big chance of winning the World Series

With strong hitting, better pitching and more experience, Toronto looks like one of the best teams in the MLB this season. 

The Blue Jays have become one of the most exciting teams to watch this season. Their offense has been one of the biggest reasons for their success. Led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Toronto’s lineup has been able to score runs in many ways. Guerrero continues to be one of the team’s best players because of his power hitting. The Blue Jays are not only relying on one player. Other hitters like Ernie Clement, Daulton Varsho, George Springer, and Nathan Lukes have also stepped up and helped the team win games. Instead of depending only on home runs, the Blue Jays have improved getting hits with runners on base and taking advantage of scoring chances. 

After last season’s heartbreaking game 7 World Series loss, Guererro said the experience made him even more motivated. 

“Every time I went to the weight room, lifted a weight, every time I took a swing, that’s all I had on my mind, Game 7, Game 7,” he said. “When you think like that, it makes you stronger and hungrier to accomplish that goal.” 

Pitching has also been a major improvement for Toronto this year. In past seasons, the bullpen sometimes struggled to hold leads late in games. This season, the Blue Jays’ pitchers have looked much more consistent. Their starting rotation has been strong, and the relievers have done a better job closing out games. Many baseball experts like Connie Mack and Tom Seaver say pitching is one of the most important parts of winning the playoffs. Teams need reliable pitchers because postseason games are usually close and low scoring. Toronto’s improvement on the mound could give them a big advantage later in the season. 

Manager John Schneider said “Overall, I think our starting pitching depth is in a really good spot.” 

Another reason for the Blue Jays chances this year is because several players on the roster have already played in the postseason before. Even though Toronto had disappointing playoff exits in recent years, those experiences may help the team stay calmer under pressure this time. 

Manager John Schneider believes the team’s chemistry has been important throughout the season. 

“Our goal is to always out-team the other team” Schneider said in an interview with Sports Net. 

Championship teams often learn from losing before they finally succeed. The Blue Jays seem more focused and mature compared to previous seasons. Players have talked about wanting to prove they can compete with the best teams in baseball.  

Fans across Canada have also become more excited about the team. Since the Blue Jays are the only MLB team in Canada, many Canadians support them during the season. Rogers Centre has been louder and more energetic as more fans attend games and believe the team can make a deep playoff run.  

The American teams are also very competitive this year, but there does not seem to be one singular team that is clearly better than everyone else. Because of this, Toronto has a real opportunity to compete for the World Series to play well. 

Baseball can still be unpredictable. A team can have a great regular season and still lose quickly in the playoffs. Injuries, slumps, or mistakes can change everything. Still, the Blue Jays look more balanced and prepared than they have in years. With talented players, stronger pitching and growing confidence, Toronto may finally have what it takes to bring home another World Series championship back to Canada.
