Artist’s Statement: “Inadequacies” Illustration
My goal for this illustration was to portray the intangible emotions that comes with feeling inadequate.
My goal for this illustration was to portray the intangible emotions that comes with feeling inadequate.
The process for making this image was less tedious compared to coming up with a concept to work with, but I enjoyed incorporating hand-drawn elements with editing with GIMP.
For this illustration I attempted to create something that enhanced the narrator’s youthful tone.
There were various ideas popping out in my head, but I did not know which one would be suitable to do an illustration. One of my drawings was a baby that tries to walk toward an iPad while stepping on toys.
Designs such as drawings are flat and done on a 2-dimensional surface so artists often use the art of perspective to make the design look more realistic and 3-dimensional.
This illustration was designed to accompany an article about how video games will affect teens and their addiction to these games. An addiction which is more common than you may think.
This project taught me a lot about how to use image editing software, but I suspect starting with a hand-drawn sketch would produce a more interesting idea for illustration.
In this picture I was trying to enhance the environmental and learning aspect of an article about sustainable products.
